PDAS FOUNDATION ORGANISES A DAY WORKSHOP FOR SECONDARY STUDENTS IN IJEBU IGBO. THE THEME IS: LIVING A HEALTHY LIFE: AVOIDING DRUG AND SAYING NO TO SEXUAL VIOLENCE.

The Princess Dorcas Adekemi Sijuade (PDAS) Foundation in Ijebu Igbo organizes a day workshop for the Secondary School Students in Ijebu Igbo. The workshop takes place in Molusi College School Hall, Ijebu Igbo. The theme of the workshop which is "Living a healthy lifestyle: Avoiding Drug and Saying No to Sexual Violence" was exclusively and explicitly discussed by the invited Speakers. The first Speaker Ms Bamisaye Funmilayo Loveth, a Counsellor in the National Drug Law and Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Ijebu Ode Command speaks on Drug Abuse/Misuse of Drugs while the second speaker Mrs. Oluwabiyi Bolatito, a senior staff and Head of Department, Science and Laboratory Technology, Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic, Ijebu Igbo speaks on Sexual Violence.

The workshop which was held on 6th day of July, 2022 had in attendance the Chairman of Ijebu North Local Government in person of Mr. Abolaji Odusanya; the Director of Health in the Local Government Dr. Mrs Salako; Teachers and 20 students from each public secondary school in Ijebu Igbo.

The Speakers made sound judgement to the theme of the workshop by educating the students on the causes and consequences of drug abuse and Sexual Violence; ways of avoiding the social vices and the need to seek for help. The major slogan is SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING. It was affirmed that speaking up will help to avert ugly situation, cure from depressive situation d help eliminate stigmatization.

The workshop was adjudged to be timely and necessary as the issue of drug abuse is ravaging amongst the secondary school students and youth Constituency at large. The Chairman applauded the CEO Princess Adekemi Sijuade for organizing such an epic event which he described to be an awakening call for the students. Dr. Mrs Salako appraised the foundation for standing with the Youth and for bringing the campaign to them.

The CEO appreciates the Speakers and the guests for their remarks. She admonished the students to shun drug abuse and say no to any sexual advances.
